Plaster cast feet and hand sculpture in Surrey, Tooting London

To take the baby impression, we simply take the child’s hand or foot and press it into soft terracotta clay, this is pain-free and over in a matter of seconds.

Feet 1st then use the impression to make the final cast in plaster, bronze or resin.

These can be finished in a wide range of hand-made bespoke frames and coloured backing mounts of your choice.

Impressions can be taken from a child of four-weeks old.

3D body sculpture by Feet 1st in South London

To create the sculpture, first we take a 3-d mould. This is done by placing the child’s foot or hand in alginate, a soft setting solution used widely by dental surgeries.

It doesn’t matter if your child wriggles and they don’t have to be asleep, it only takes a few minutes. We then use the mold to create a final sculpture in plaster.

These can be finished as stand-alone
polished plaster sculptures or in bronze or aluminium resin, solid bronze or solid silver, or framed as a pair using a number of framing options. We hand engrave all sculptures with words of your choice such as your child’s name and age.

Casts can be taken from a child as young as four-weeks old.
